VACANCY: MECHATRONICS ENGINEER

Location: Kwekwe, Gweru and Chiredzi, Zimbabwe Xiangshi is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Mechatronics Engineer.

Duties and Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Design, install, commission and maintain integrated mechanical, electrical, electronic and automated systems.

Troubleshoot and repair electromechanical and automated equipment used in mining and mineral processing operations.

Maintain and optimise motors, drives, sensors, actuators, control systems and automated machinery.

Work with PLC, HMI and SCADA-based control systems.

Integrate mechanical equipment with electrical and automation systems to improve plant performance.

Diagnose equipment failures and conduct root-cause analysis.

Support preventive and predictive maintenance programmes.

Assist with the commissioning, modification and upgrading of mining and mineral processing equipment.

Work closely with mechanical, electrical, automation and process engineering teams.

Ensure that equipment operates safely, efficiently and reliably.

Qualifications and Experience

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's Degree in Mechatronics Engineering or an equivalent engineering qualification.

Practical experience with electromechanical systems, industrial automation and control systems.

Knowledge of PLCs, sensors, variable-frequency drives, motors, actuators and industrial instrumentation.

Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical and control-system drawings.

Experience in mining, mineral processing, manufacturing or heavy industrial environments will be an advantage.

Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Willingness to work at operational sites and processing plants.
