INTRODUCTION

MOUNT PACK INVESTMENTS (PVT) LTD, a company involved in chrome mining and mineral-processing operations in Darwendale, is seeking suitably qualified and experienced engineering professionals to join its technical team.

Duties and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Design, install, commission and maintain industrial automation and control systems.

Support automation of mining and mineral-processing equipment.

Configure, troubleshoot and maintain PLC-based control systems.

Work with sensors, actuators, variable-frequency drives and industrial control equipment.

Support SCADA and HMI systems used for monitoring and controlling plant operations.

Diagnose automation, instrumentation and control-system faults.

Integrate automated equipment with mechanical and electrical systems.

Monitor production and equipment data to identify performance problems.

Develop and improve automated operating and control procedures.

Assist with commissioning of automated mining and processing equipment.

Maintain automation system documentation, control diagrams and technical records.

Train and provide technical support to operators, technicians and local engineering personnel.

Assist in improving plant efficiency, reliability and automation performance.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Automation Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related discipline.

Practical experience with PLC, SCADA, HMI, industrial control systems and instrumentation.

Experience with industrial automation, mining, mineral processing or manufacturing equipment is an advantage.

Ability to troubleshoot electrical, automation and control-system faults.

Knowledge of industrial communication systems and variable-frequency drives is an advantage.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to work effectively in a mining and processing environment.
